Born Terrance James, singer and song Writer, Teron James, is an an up and coming artist born and raised in Chicago Illinois. This "Rated Next" artist may be new to the mainstream, but is no stranger to music and pop culture. Growing up in a neighborhood where the presence of poverty, guns, and the loud sounds of violence saturated the streets, Teron James found his voice in music at a very early age. With music as his scape-goat; singing, dancing, and song writing became the norm for the young dreamer.

Crying to be heard, James remarkably started writing music at the impressive age of 4. Today, the young man has two hot singles, "Domestic" and "Sober", scheduled to premier on Chicagoland radio stations, including on the WRLR program Soul Suite.

Music influences have been Teddy Pendegrass, Bobby Womack, Aretha Franklin, Smokie Robinson, Jessie Powell. Also, Jay Z, Beyonce, R Kelly, Monica, Lady Gaga, Tyrese, and Usher. The likes of Prince, Baby Face Edmonds, Smokie Robinson and Teddy Riley have stirred the songwriting within him. The crooner shows no signs of stopping. "I try to make music that people can relate to. Commercial tracks are great for radio play and opens the door for latter success, but I also want to be respected for my vocals." the singer says. "My first two singles are very commercial indeed; however, my stage performances are as real as they come. They are up close and personal, just the way I like it."

While James is creating a buzz throughout the Chicago area, the musician has also been writing for several other artists and is now putting a finishing touch to what would be his first complete studio album. The male vocalist received his first big break after being discovered by vocal coach, Tamara Anderson. After witnessing James' potential, Anderson introduced the young entertainer to producer Vince Lawrence, founder of Slang Music Group, a music company that has completed work for clients such as: Beyonce, R Kelly, Destiny's Child, Omarion and R&B singer Joe. James recently opened for R&B Superstar Ginuwine.
