JUDGING: Preliminaries: Those competitors who receive the highest Audience Response on a
given night will continue to perform at the venue through the Preliminary period (January 2012).
At the conclusion of the Competition on a given night patrons will by applause indicate their top
choices. Representatives of the venue will make the final determination on who will continue to
perform and ultimately who will advance to the Quarter Finals to represent the venue.

Quarter Finals through the Finale: A panel of three independent judges’ votes (weighted 75%)
and the audience vote (weighted 25%) will determine which competitors advance from the
Quarter Finals through the Finale. The judges’ decisions will be based upon the following three
criteria: (1) Singing, (2) Ability and (3) Audience Response. Scoring will be weighted by
percentage on the three categories as follows: 60 percent for Singing, 25 percent for Ability, and
15 percent on Audience Response. In the event of a tie, the competitor with the higher Singing
score will advance. In the event of a further tie, the judges, in their sole discretion, will determine
which competitor advances.

NOTIFICATION: Competitors will be notified whether they have advanced to the next round
within 48 hours of the end of the previous round by phone or e-mail. Results will also be posted
on www.98Radioke.com within 48 hours of the end of the previous round.

PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES: General guidelines relating to all Rounds: No nudity, flashing
or profanity will be allowed. Such behavior will be cause for immediate disqualification from the
Competition. Any other disruptive or distracting behavior will be cause for review and may
result in disqualification. Competitors must be able to attend all six rounds of the Competition.
No substitutions will be allowed for any competitor. The order of competitors’ performances on
each night will be determined by a random drawing. Every competitor must be ready to perform
when it is their turn. A competitor may sing the same song as other competitors on a given night.
However, during any of the finals, once a competitor performs a song, that competitor may not
perform the same song again. Competitors should have at least three songs prepared to sing.
Competitors will have up to three minutes to perform, but judges have the prerogative to end a
performance at any time prior to the expiration of those three minutes. Competitors will sing
karaoke, and must choose a song from a song list provided by the venue. During any of the finals
a competitor may not perform a song performed by another competitor on the same night. In
order to avoid competitors performing the same song on a given night, each competitor must
notify the venue’s designated representative (most likely the KJ) of his or her song choice 72
hours prior to the start of a given Round. Competitors will have 3½ minutes to perform a song
and will not be allowed to start a song over.
